Datta Yoga Center, USA (DYCUSA) is the American branch of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore India. DYCUSA was established by His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji in 1986 to foster unity, peace, and spiritual/religious fulfillment of humanity through ancient teachings.

In the United States and all over the world, Sri Swamiji has uplifted, enlightened, and blessed thousands of individuals. His Holiness leads devotees to understand the higher meaning of this life. He teaches that this body and soul should be used to grow spiritually through good thoughts, meditation, puja (worship), Nama Sankeertana (singing and repetition of the name of the Lord), and seva (service to the Sadguru or God). U.S. devotees follow His teachings by singing His bhajans, holding satsangs, celebrating important religious festivals and helping those in need.

Sri Swamiji has constructed two temples in the U.S. (Baton Rouge, LA and West Sunbury, PA) that devotees are encouraged to visit on a regular basis. Congregational prayers and services are regularly held throughout the year at these places emphasizing the universal message of love, peace, freedom and service to fellow beings.

Kriya Yoga, the practice of controlling breathing (Pranayama) is one method that Sri Swamiji teaches to improve health and peace of mind. Sri Swamiji or His assistants conduct Kriya yoga classes from time to time in various cities. People that have taken the classes are attracted to the simple explanations and demonstrations of different pranayama techniques. In 1985 in Northeast Pennsylvania, Sri Swamiji explained the significance of breath control. "Long breath, Long life. Short breath, short life… A long breath, a long Pranayama is beneficial for our nervous system and mental balance… Whoever practices long breathing will not be tired at all. Those with a short breath will become tired."
